Going Green included two presentations: one about sustainability practices in place at Madeira School and a second presentation from Sidwell Friends School about their new middle school building. The building is remarkable in that it was awarded LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, making it the only K-12 school in the world, and the first building in Washington, D.C. to receive this distinction.
