The Parents Council of Washington is pleased to host New York Times best-selling author Jeff Selingo regarding his extensive research and newly released book Who Gets In and Why: A Year Inside College Admissions and Ned Johnson, founder of PrepMatters and co-author of The Self-Driven Child: The Science and Sense of Giving Your Kids More Control Over Their Lives. This speaker series event will provide insight into how to find colleges that will be a good fit and how college admission decisions are made. Notably the program will address the admission process during the pandemic such as changing classroom assessments and grading policies, lack of varied extracurricular activities and sports, cancelled standardized tests, test-optional policies, virtual visits, and more.
